What is CCY ?

Each DA has a youth section where children aged between 12-18 can join there DA’s youth for free. Although every youth member who wants to carry on camping in the CCY must complete their youth test before their 18th birthday. (Read below for more details). Being a youth member has many benefits, so make sure you sign up today!

Youth Test
You also have the opportunity to take your youth test before your 18th birthday and if you pass, it allows you to continue with the privileges of a Youth member until you are 21.Including a reduced membership fee until you are 30 and the entitlement to attend the international youth rally each year.

The Youth test comprises of camping skills such as pitching & erecting a tent, the use of stoves, map reading, first aid etc. You can find more information on this by going to the Youth Test page on the menu.

Youth Rallies
Central Counties organise two Youth Rallies, one in the winter and one in the summer. At each meet there are sports and trophies to be won.

The rallies include 5 aside football, volleyball, netball and fun sports and races.

You also have the opportunity to attend the National Youth Rally where you have the chance to make friends with youth members from other parts of the UK.

Important Notice to Parents
All Youth Leaders, assistants and tester are all accredited by the Camping and Caravanning Club and have been vetted through the criminal records bureau. They must also carry Camping & Caravanning Club endorsed photo identification.

Please note the CCY area is not a baby sitting service and must not be treated as so; the youth leaders are there to guide the youth members where possible and assist in there camping experience.

Youth Area Rules
We have a simple set of rules that we have implemented to ensure that you all stay safe and understand your commitments to the running of the area. Before camping, all youth members will be expected and to follow and sign a CCY code of conduct. Any CCY members that do not comply with any of these rules may be asked to leave the CCY area and could be excluded from future CCY events/camping.

Please note: Alcohol and Smoking is not allowed within the youth area and any under age drinking will not be tolerated.
